If you already applied

A closed program usually still honours files it accepted before the cut-off, on its own deadlines. Follow up with Natural Resources Canada directly: we don't take applications and can't check a file for you.

Frequently asked questions

There is no single replacement. The federal government announced the National Heat Pump Rebate on October 8, 2026 ($2,000, or up to $10,000 below the median income), but it isn't open yet. The income-tested Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program covers upgrades at no cost where it is offered. Most of the money today comes from provincial and utility programs.

No. NRCan's closure notice says payment requests after December 31, 2025 are not processed. If you think your file was complete before that date, contact NRCan through the official page linked below.

Don't count on it. Programs that need an assessment usually want one done for them: Ontario's Home Renovation Savings Program, for example, won't accept assessments done for Enbridge's HER or HER+. Its single-upgrade track needs no assessment at all. Check the program page before you book.
