Energy audit rebates in Canada

40 current programs across Canada pay for energy assessments, in 12 provinces and territories. Homeowners can stack the most in Ontario ($600), Québec ($500) and Manitoba ($400) today. Pick your province for the rates that fit your home.

A home energy assessment by a registered energy advisor shows where your home loses heat. Some programs require one before you can claim insulation, window or air sealing rebates, and several reimburse part of the cost. We explain when you need one and which programs pay for it.

Getting an energy assessment

General advice. Each program’s own rules come first.

Do it first
Many larger rebates need an assessment before any upgrade starts. Booking it after the work is done can disqualify you.
Use a registered advisor
Use an energy advisor registered with the program so your EnerGuide results count.
Treat the report as a plan
The report ranks upgrades for your house. Use it to decide the order of work and to compare contractor quotes.

Get up to 3 energy advisor quotes

Tell us where you live and what you’re planning. We’ll send your request to up to 3 installers who know the local rebate paperwork.

We’re independent. We never take rebate applications or charge you to apply; always apply through the official program.

Request quotes

Free, no obligation. We pass your request to up to 3 independent installers who serve your area and, where a program requires it, are registered with it.

  2. 2. Your contact details
