How it works

Éconologis runs every year from October 1 to March 31. An energy-efficiency advisor from Expertbâtiment Services-Conseils, the program's only authorized organization, visits the home of an eligible modest-income household, owner or tenant, whatever the heating fuel. The visit includes personalized advice on heating, hot water, appliances and lighting, plus free minor work where needed, such as caulking windows, draft-stopping doors, insulating outlets on exterior walls, and installing low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators.

The visit is also the required first step for Hydro-Québec's free heat pump offer. Demand for that offer filled the program's capacity, so registration for 2026–2027 closed early. Households that already sent in a form will be contacted to confirm eligibility and book a visit.

Who qualifies

  • Total pre-tax household income under the 2026–2027 thresholds: $59,076 (1 person), $83,541 (2), $102,318 (3), $118,148 (4), $132,094 (5), $144,705 (6+)
  • Owners or tenants, with any heating fuel
  • Household has not used the program in the last 5 years (3 years if you have moved to a new home)
