How it works

LogisVert is Hydro-Québec's flagship residential efficiency program. The largest grants go to air-source heat pumps, paid per 1,000 BTU/h of heating capacity at -8°C: $50 for an ENERGY STAR unit and $120 for an ENERGY STAR Cold Climate unit. Hydro-Québec advertises up to $6,700 for a heat pump. The heat pump must be new, ENERGY STAR certified, have an outdoor unit of at least 12,000 BTU/h, and be installed in a home whose main heating is electric.

Other measures include $1,500 for bringing a house's roof to at least R-50 and caulking every listed air-leak point, $750 per 1,000 BTU/h for a new geothermal system, $250 per 1,000 BTU/h for replacing an end-of-life geothermal unit (capped at $18,000 for an individual home), and $15,000 to $22,000 for an electric thermal storage (ETS) central system, with or without a central heat pump. For new geothermal and ETS systems, the authorized installer deducts the grant from the invoice, so there is no application to file. There are also $250 grants for an induction range and a heat-pump dryer, which tenants can claim, and $125 to $300 for an efficient pool pump until November 30, 2026.

Claiming two or more measures in one application adds 5% to the total grant. Since June 15, 2026, owners of older rental buildings in areas Hydro-Québec designates as energy insecure can get an extra $100 per 1,000 BTU/h on Cold Climate wall-mounted heat pumps, for a total of $220. The two bonuses cannot be combined. On the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Cold Climate heat pumps receive $200 per 1,000 BTU/h.

Who qualifies

  • Home in Québec supplied by Hydro-Québec, an off-grid Hydro-Québec system, or a municipal or cooperative grid
  • Heat pumps, induction ranges and heat-pump dryers: houses, condos, multiplexes, buildings of up to 19 units, and individually metered apartments in larger buildings
  • Roof insulation: houses whose main heating is electric. Geothermal replacement and pool pumps: houses and buildings of up to 19 units (geothermal also multiplexes)
  • Heat pumps must be ENERGY STAR certified, on Hydro-Québec's eligible list, and installed in a home whose main heating is electric
  • Equipment must be new and bought from a Québec retailer, or from an online retailer with a Québec address
  • Work must be done by a business listed with the Registraire des entreprises that holds the right RBQ licence subclasses
  • The grant goes to the owner, except induction ranges and dryers, which tenants can claim

How to apply

  1. Step 1: Check that your heat pump model is on Hydro-Québec's eligible list and estimate your grant on the LogisVert portal (logisvert.ca) before installing.

  2. Step 2: Hire a licensed contractor and keep your paid invoices, proof of ownership and photos of the equipment nameplates.

  3. Step 3: Submit your claim through the LogisVert portal within 9 months of installation. When you claim several measures together, the 9 months start from the first one. The portal is in French only.

  4. Step 4: Processing takes about 10 to 12 weeks once the file is complete. You will be asked for your SIN, NEQ or GST number so Hydro-Québec can issue a Relevé 27, and the cheque is mailed to you.

  5. Step 5: For new geothermal or ETS systems, use an authorized installer, who deducts the grant from your invoice.
