Replacing your furnace with a heat pump
Very few programs still pay for a gas furnace. Most of the money for a furnace replacement now goes to heat pumps: see heat pump rebates in Québec and what a furnace or heat pump costs in Québec after rebates.
Replacing a furnace or boiler in Québec
The first tip comes from the program’s own steps. Each program’s rules come first.
- How Énergir dual energy works in Que.
- Check eligibility and take the quiz in Énergir's Customer Space, or contact Énergir. Sign a contract with an Énergir sales representative or Énergir Partner before installation starts.
- Price a heat pump option too
- Most new rebates favour heat pumps or hybrid systems over a straight furnace swap. Ask for both quotes.
- Look for high-efficiency ratings
- Where furnace or boiler incentives exist, they usually require a high AFUE rating and a listed model.
- Check fuel-switching rules
- Some programs pay more for switching away from oil or propane. Note your current fuel on every application.
