LogisVert pays for an air-source heat pump based on its heating capacity at -8 °C: $50 per 1,000 BTU/h for an ENERGY STAR unit and $120 per 1,000 BTU/h for an ENERGY STAR Cold Climate unit. Hydro-Québec advertises up to $6,700 for a heat pump. You claim after installation through the LogisVert portal, within 9 months.
Estimate your LogisVert heat pump grant
This page is the calculator. For every LogisVert measure, the conditions and the program’s status, see LogisVert amounts and eligibility.
LogisVert is Hydro-Québec’s main home-efficiency program. For air-source heat pumps it doesn’t pay a flat amount. It pays a rate for every 1,000 BTU/h of heating capacity at -8 °C, which is how much heat the unit can still deliver on a cold day. That number is on the manufacturer’s spec sheet and on Hydro-Québec’s eligible equipment list. It is usually lower than the unit’s nominal size, so don’t use the number in the model name.
Estimate your LogisVert heat pump grant
Uses Hydro-Québec's published per-capacity rates, verified October 12, 2026.
In BTU/h. It's on the spec sheet or Hydro-Québec's eligible list, not the unit's nominal size.
Estimated grant
$2,880
24 × $120 = $2,880
- The outdoor unit must be at least 12,000 BTU/h and the model must be on Hydro-Québec's eligible list.
- Claiming several measures in one application adds a 5% bonus.
- The rate depends on your installation date. The LogisVert portal gives the official figure.
Hydro-Québec doesn’t publish how its $6,700 headline figure is calculated, and the rate depends on your installation date, so treat any estimate (including ours) as a guide. The estimator on logisvert.ca is the official figure.

Key facts for LogisVert Efficient Homes Program, from our program database.
ENERGY STAR vs Cold Climate rates
The certification makes the biggest difference. The same 24,000 BTU/h of capacity at -8 °C is worth $1,200 on an ENERGY STAR unit and $2,880 on an ENERGY STAR Cold Climate unit.
| Certification | Rate | 24,000 BTU/h, before any cap |
|---|---|---|
| ENERGY STAR | $50 per 1,000 BTU/h | $1,200 |
| ENERGY STAR Cold Climate | $120 per 1,000 BTU/h | $2,880 |
| Cold Climate wall-mounted, eligible older rental (since June 15, 2026) | $220 per 1,000 BTU/h | $5,280 |
LogisVert air-source heat pump rates
The last row is a bonus for owners of older multi-unit rentals: buildings with two or more units, built in 1995 or earlier, in areas Hydro-Québec designates as energy insecure. It adds $100 per 1,000 BTU/h on Cold Climate wall-mounted units, can’t be combined with the multiple-measures bonus, and can’t be combined with other utility or government offers.
One older measure is gone: the $140 per 1,000 BTU/h rate for a high-efficiency heat pump with caulking was removed on August 25, 2025, though work finished before then can still be claimed.
Eligible homes and equipment rules
- The home is in Québec and served by Hydro-Québec or an eligible municipal or co-operative grid.
- Most measures cover single-family homes, condos, multiplexes and buildings of up to 19 units.
- The applicant is usually the owner. Tenants can claim the induction range and heat-pump dryer grants.
- Equipment is new and bought from a Québec retailer, or an online retailer with a Québec address.
- The work is done by a contractor registered with the Registraire des entreprises who holds the required RBQ licence subclasses.
- The heat pump is on Hydro-Québec’s eligible list, ENERGY STAR certified, with an outdoor unit of at least 12,000 BTU/h.

Insulation, geothermal and other LogisVert measures
Beyond air-source heat pumps, LogisVert pays for geothermal systems, electric thermal storage, roof insulation and a few appliances. For new geothermal and thermal storage systems, the authorized installer deducts the grant from your invoice.
| Upgrade | Amount | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Cold Climate heat pump – Îles-de-la-Madeleine | $200 per 1,000 BTU/h | Not available if the heat pump replaces or supplements a fuel-fired main heating system, or in buildings less than 5 years old. Cannot be combined with the multiple-measures bonus. |
| Roof insulation (R-50) and caulking | $1,500 | Houses only, with electricity as the main heating source. 100% of the roof must reach at least RSI 8.8 (R-50), and windows, doors, attic hatches, range hoods, bathroom fans, outlets and fireplaces must all be caulked. Once per home. |
| New geothermal heat pump | $750 per 1,000 BTU/h | The authorized installer deducts the grant from the invoice. |
| Geothermal heat pump replacement | $250 per 1,000 BTU/h | The existing unit must be at end of life and out of warranty. The $18,000 cap (72,000 BTU/h) applies to individual homes. Once per home. |
| Electric thermal storage (ETS) system + central heat pump | $22,000 | Replaces the central heating system. The authorized installer deducts the grant from the invoice. |
| Electric thermal storage (ETS) system alone | $15,000 | Replaces the central heating unit. The authorized installer deducts the grant from the invoice. |
| Induction range | $250 | One per address. Needs at least 4 induction elements and a convection oven; cooktops alone don't qualify. Tenants can apply. |
| Heat-pump clothes dryer | $250 | One per address. Condenser dryers and drying cabinets don't qualify. Tenants can apply. |
| Efficient pool pump | $125 (two-speed) / $300 (variable-speed) | Ending: the pump must be bought and installed before 2026-11-30, and the claim filed before 2027-03-01. |
| Multiple-measures bonus | 5% of total grant | When at least two different measures are approved in one application. Not combinable with the multi-unit rental bonus. |

One is on its way out: Hydro-Québec labels the pool pump measure “last chance”, and it ends on November 30, 2026. Roof insulation has no end date but, like the heat pump grants, is only for homes heated mainly by electricity. For walls, foundations and windows, Québec’s Rénoclimat was redesigned on October 1, 2026 and no longer requires a before-and-after evaluation. See LogisVert vs Rénoclimat for which program pays for what.
Deadlines: the 9-month claim window
- Before you install, check the model on the eligible list and estimate your grant on logisvert.ca.
- Hire an RBQ-licensed contractor. Keep the invoices, proof of ownership and photos of the equipment nameplates.
- Submit your claim online through the LogisVert portal within 9 months of the installation date.
- Once approved, the grant is sent by mail.
At the payment stage you may be asked for your social insurance number so Hydro-Québec can issue a Relevé 27 tax slip. Our guide to whether energy rebates are taxable explains what that slip means for you.
Stacking LogisVert with federal and other rebates
LogisVert is listed as combinable with Rénoclimat, Novoclimat, the LogisVert solar grant and Montréal’s RénoPlex, as long as each program pays for different work: Rénoclimat, for example, won’t fund work that another government or city already funds. Claiming several LogisVert measures in one application adds a 5% bonus on the total.

The federal National Heat Pump Rebate has been announced without a launch date and is described as stackable with provincial programs. Hydro-Québec says LogisVert continues as normal in the meantime. Modest-income households heated by baseboards should also watch for the next registration period of the free heat pump offer, which closed for 2026–2027 because of demand.
