Air sealing rebates in Canada

46 current programs across Canada pay for air sealing, in 11 provinces and territories including 1 federal program. Homeowners can stack the most in Manitoba ($1,000), Newfoundland and Labrador ($750) and Prince Edward Island ($575) today. Pick your province for the rates that fit your home.

Air sealing closes the gaps that let heated air escape, and programs usually measure it with a blower-door test during an energy assessment. Rebates tend to be small on their own but pair well with insulation and heat pump upgrades. Here's where air sealing is covered.

How air-sealing rebates work

General advice. Each program’s own rules come first.

It's measured, not estimated
Air-sealing rebates usually depend on blower-door test results before and after the work.
Book the first test early
The pre-retrofit test has to happen before any sealing work, or there's nothing to compare against.
Pair it with insulation
Sealing and insulating together cost less than doing them separately and usually perform better.
