  • Hire the wrong company and the rebate can be refused

    Some rebates only pay when a participating contractor does the work. Ontario's Home Renovation Savings, for example, pays heat pump rebates through program-qualified contractors, and Québec's LogisVert needs a properly licensed installer.

  • They know the order of operations

    Pre-approval, energy audits, eligible product lists and deadlines trip people up. Installers who work with these programs every week get the sequence right.

  • Some file the paperwork for you

    With some programs the installer files the application for you, and a few take the rebate off your invoice (LogisVert does this for new geothermal and central thermal-storage systems).

Yes. Asking for quotes is free and you're under no obligation to hire anyone. Installers pay RebateHub a fee for each request we send them; that never changes the program information we publish.

Up to three independent installers who serve your area, install your upgrade and, where a program requires it, are registered with it. They'll contact you by phone, text or email. Apart from the service providers that run our site, we don't pass your details to anyone else.

It depends on the program. Some are claimed by the contractor, some by you, and some need pre-approval before any work. Each program page on RebateHub explains who applies and when. Check your rebates to see the programs for your home.

No. RebateHub is an independent service. No government program sends salespeople door to door, and you never have to pay anyone to apply for a rebate. If someone says they're “from the rebate program”, check the official program site before you sign anything.
