Insulation rebates in Canada
Every province and territory has at least one way to pay for insulation: 57 current programs including 1 federal program. Homeowners can stack the most in Québec ($12,500), the Northwest Territories ($8,000) and Ontario ($7,700) today. Pick your province for the rates that fit your home.
Insulation is one of the cheapest upgrades per dollar saved, and many provinces pay a large share of the cost, especially for attics. Some programs need a before-and-after energy assessment to measure the improvement. Here's where insulation rebates are open and what each one requires.

Getting insulation right
General advice. Each program’s own rules come first.
- Start with the attic
- Attics are usually the cheapest place to add insulation and often have the fastest payback.
- Seal before you insulate
- Air-seal the attic floor, top plates and penetrations first. Insulation slows heat; it doesn't stop air leaks.
- Keep the paperwork
- Rebates are often based on the area and R-value added. Ask for invoices that list both, and photos before and after.
- Check whether an assessment is needed
- Wall and basement insulation rebates often need before-and-after energy assessments, while attic-only rebates sometimes don't.
Get up to 3 insulation quotes
Tell us where you live and what you’re planning. We’ll send your request to up to 3 installers who know the local rebate paperwork.
We’re independent. We never take rebate applications or charge you to apply; always apply through the official program.
Request quotes
Free, no obligation. We pass your request to up to 3 independent installers who serve your area and, where a program requires it, are registered with it.
- 1. Your project
- 2. Your contact details
- Installers checked against your program’s contractor list, where it has one
- Installers pay us, never you
- Sent to up to 3 installers who serve your area. We don't sell or rent lists.
