How it works
Clean Energy Financing was a property-assessed clean energy (PACE) program run by Clean Foundation with partner municipalities. The municipality paid for upgrades such as heat pumps, insulation and solar, and the homeowner repaid the cost through a charge on the property tax account.
Clean Foundation now says the program is no longer accepting new applications. Homeowners with an existing application can still contact the program team.
Terms were set by each municipality. In Bridgewater, for example, financing ran up to 15 years at a fixed 1% rate, up to $15,000 for homes assessed at $100,000 or less and otherwise the lesser of $40,000 or 15% of assessed value.
