Editorial policy
People spend real money based on what our pages say. These rules keep the facts, the amounts and the order of every program list independent of anyone who pays us.

No paid placement in program listings
- No one can pay to have a program listed, left out, moved up the list or described differently.
- Program lists are ordered by status, level of government and amount. The same rules apply to every province, upgrade and city page.
- Sponsors, installers and affiliate partners don’t see, edit or approve our content before it is published.
- Closed and paused programs stay published as closed, with the date and what replaced them, even when the replacement pays less.
Sponsored and affiliate labels
Some parts of the site earn money. Each one is labelled where it appears:
- Sponsored placements. An installer can pay to appear beside our listings for one province and upgrade. These blocks are labelled “Sponsored”, use sponsored links and never appear inside a program list.
- Installer quotes. When you ask for quotes and give consent, installers who receive your request pay us a fee. The form says so before you send it.
- Affiliate links. Some product suggestions in guides earn a commission. They carry an affiliate disclosure next to the link and never decide which products or programs we recommend.
- Ads. If we show display ads, they are marked as ads and kept off quote forms.
The full picture of how we are paid is on our About page.
Sources and facts
- Every amount, deadline and rule comes from the official program page: the government, agency, utility or city that runs it.
- Every program page links to that official page and shows the date we last verified it.
- News, forums and contractor sites can prompt a check, but we never publish a figure from them alone.
- Numbers carry their unit and year, and income-qualified maximums are labelled as such.
How we check each program, and how often, is in our methodology.
How we use automation
Software helps us watch official pages for changes and draft summaries. A person reviews every change to a program’s facts against the live official page before it is published. Automated tools are not allowed to publish program facts on their own.
Who is accountable
Pages are credited to the RebateHub rebate researcher. We will name the people responsible on our About page once they have confirmed it, and we will not put an invented name on a byline in the meantime.
Corrections
Spot something wrong or out of date? Email hello@rebatehub.ca with the page and, if you can, a link to the official source.
- We aim to review correction requests within two business days, and sooner for closures or amount changes.
- Confirmed errors are fixed in the record and the last-verified date is updated.
- Program changes, including corrections to amounts and deadlines, are dated in our rebate tracker.
- Commercial partners can’t request changes to program facts or ordering.
