One honest place for every home energy rebate in Canada

RebateHub is an independent, privately owned Canadian website. We track federal, provincial, utility and city programs, check them against official sources, and explain them in plain language. We are not a government agency and we don’t process applications.

Why we built it

Canadian home energy rebates stack: a federal program, a provincial one, your utility, sometimes your city. Each runs its own website, its own rules and its own deadlines, and none of them shows you the whole picture. Contractor blogs fill the gap, but they tend to cover one province, keep closed programs alive and rarely mention the catches.

We wanted one place that answers the question people actually have: what can I get for my home, and in what order do I do things? Every program page leads with a direct answer, shows when we last checked it and links to the official source.

Independent, and not the government

RebateHub isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the Government of Canada, any provincial or territorial government, any municipality or any utility. Program names belong to their owners; we use them only to identify the programs.

You never need RebateHub, or anyone else, to apply for a government rebate. Apply through the official program site we link to. If someone calls or knocks claiming to be “from the rebate program”, check the official site yourself: real programs don’t sell door to door.

How we make money

RebateHub is free for homeowners. Running it takes full-time research, and here is exactly how that is paid for:

  • Paid introductions to installers. If you ask for quotes and tick the consent box, we send your request to up to three independent installers who serve your area. Each installer pays us a fee for every request we send them. This is the only time your personal information is passed on for money, and only because you asked. You can ask us which installers received your request, and withdraw consent at any time.
  • Sponsored placements. An installer can pay to appear beside our listings for one province and upgrade. Those spots are always labelled “Sponsored”, link out as sponsored links, and never appear inside program lists or change their order.
  • Affiliate links. Some product suggestions in guides may link to retailers that pay us a commission if you buy. They carry an affiliate disclosure where they appear, and they never decide which products or programs we recommend.
  • Advertising, later. If we add display ads, they’ll be clearly identifiable as ads, stay off quote forms, and use no advertising cookies unless you agree to them first.

We don’t sell or rent mailing lists, and installers who pay us must follow our partner terms: consent-based contact only, no door-knocking, no claims of government approval, and your information used only for your request.

Program facts, amounts and the order we list programs in are never for sale.

Our editorial independence policy

  • Program facts come from official sources only. Third-party reports can prompt a check, but never replace one.
  • Sponsors, installers and affiliate partners don’t see, edit or approve our content before it’s published.
  • Whether a company pays us never affects whether a program is listed, what we say about it, or the amounts we show.
  • Neutral lists are ordered by status, government level and amount, never by who pays us.
  • We publish closed and paused programs as closed, with the date, even when a newer program is less generous.
  • If a commercial partner breaks our standards, such as door-knocking or implying government approval, we drop them.
  • We correct errors quickly and say what changed. See our corrections policy.

The full rules, including how sponsored and affiliate content is labelled, are in our editorial policy.
