Smart thermostat rebates in Canada

22 current programs across Canada pay for smart thermostats, in 10 provinces and territories including 1 federal program. Homeowners can stack the most in Yukon ($750), Ontario ($300) and Nova Scotia ($205) today. Pick your province for the rates that fit your home.

Smart thermostat rebates are among the easiest to claim. Many are instant or a short online form, but eligible models and amounts vary by utility. If you heat with electric baseboards, look for line-voltage models. Here's what's available in your province.

Smart thermostat rebates

General advice. Each program’s own rules come first.

Check compatibility
Make sure the thermostat works with your system, especially a heat pump or a hybrid system with backup heat.
Claim quickly
Thermostat rebates often have short claim windows after purchase. Keep the receipt and the model number.
Look at demand-response programs
Some utilities pay you to let them adjust your thermostat slightly during peak hours. These usually stack with purchase rebates.

Get up to 3 smart thermostat quotes

Tell us where you live and what you’re planning. We’ll send your request to up to 3 installers who know the local rebate paperwork.

We’re independent. We never take rebate applications or charge you to apply; always apply through the official program.

Request quotes

Free, no obligation. We pass your request to up to 3 independent installers who serve your area and, where a program requires it, are registered with it.
