If you were counting on a program that closed: what replaced Canada Greener Homes Loan, what replaced CGHG, what replaced HER+ and what replaced BHH.

Getting insulation right in Ontario

The first tip comes from the program’s own steps. Each program’s rules come first.

How HRSP works in Ont.
Go to homerenovationsavings.ca and choose the with-assessment or without-assessment path. Heat pumps and attic insulation: confirm eligibility online and hire a participating contractor, who submits the application. Heat pumps need pre-approval before installation.
Start with the attic
Attics are usually the cheapest place to add insulation and often have the fastest payback.
Seal before you insulate
Air-seal the attic floor, top plates and penetrations first. Insulation slows heat; it doesn't stop air leaks.
Keep the paperwork
Rebates are often based on the area and R-value added. Ask for invoices that list both, and photos before and after.
