Before you get heat pump quotes in Québec

The first tip comes from the program’s own steps. Each program’s rules come first.

How Énergir dual energy works in Que.
Check eligibility and take the quiz in Énergir's Customer Space, or contact Énergir. Sign a contract with an Énergir sales representative or Énergir Partner before installation starts.
Ask for a cold-climate model
Most Canadian rebates require a cold-climate air-source heat pump on NRCan's qualified product list. Ask each installer for the exact outdoor and indoor model numbers so you can check them.
Insist on a heat-loss calculation
Proper sizing comes from a room-by-room heat-loss calculation, not the size of your old furnace. An oversized unit cycles more and costs more; an undersized one leans on backup heat.
Plan the backup
Decide with your installer whether you keep a furnace as backup (a hybrid system) or go fully electric. The choice can change which rebate tier you qualify for.
