How it works
The Programme d'amélioration de l'isolation (Insulation Improvement Program) is a City of Longueuil top-up for homeowners who have received a grant from Québec's Rénoclimat program. Its stated aim is homes with good insulation and soundproofing.
The city pays 25% of the Rénoclimat grant you received, plus $25 if your Rénoclimat evaluation included a blower-door (air-tightness) test. The top-up is capped at $3,000 per building. Eligible work is the work recommended in your Rénoclimat pre-work evaluation and actually completed, such as insulation, air sealing, and ventilation, water heater, heat pump, heating or geothermal systems.
The home must be in the eligible zone shown on the city's map, about 2.8 km around the airport and mostly in the Saint-Hubert borough. You must own and live in the home, and you need a city building permit before any work that requires one.
Who qualifies
- Owner-occupant of a residential building in the eligible zone around the Saint-Hubert airport (see the city's eligibility map).
- You must have received a Rénoclimat grant from the Government of Québec for the work.
- The work must have been recommended in the Rénoclimat pre-work evaluation report and completed.
- A City of Longueuil building permit must be obtained before any work that requires one.
How to apply
Step 1: Check the city's eligibility map to confirm your address is in the zone.
Step 2: Complete your Rénoclimat project and receive the provincial grant.
Step 3: Send the PAI registration form to the Division des programmes (DAU.PAH@longueuil.quebec or 4300, chemin de la Savane, Saint-Hubert) with proof of ownership and residence, the building permit, the post-work Rénoclimat evaluation report, proof of the Rénoclimat payment and the blower-door test invoice if applicable.
