How it works

LogisVert pays a grant for new grid-connected solar panel systems installed on or after June 30, 2025. The grant is $1,000 per kilowatt of installed capacity, capped at 40% of the purchase and installation cost. For example, a 5 kW system costing $15,000 would receive $5,000.

The connection request must be filed by a master electrician, and Hydro-Québec must give final authorization to connect the system. Homes on a municipal or cooperative grid also need written authorization from that utility. Panels must be new, bought in Québec, and certified to CSA 22.2 No. 61730 and CSA 61215 or their UL or IEC equivalents. The whole system, including panels, inverter, wiring and racking, must be installed by a contractor with the right RBQ licences. Detached garages and sheds on the same lot are eligible locations.

Batteries, roof repairs, engineering plans and replacements of existing systems are not covered. On the Îles-de-la-Madeleine the grant is higher: $2,000 per kW, up to 50% of costs, but not for homes whose main heating is fuel-fired.

Who qualifies

  • House, multiplex, or residential building of 19 units or fewer in Québec (condos and larger buildings are not eligible for this measure)
  • System installed on or after June 30, 2025
  • Final authorization to connect to the Hydro-Québec grid, or written authorization from your municipal or cooperative utility
  • New, certified panels bought in Québec
  • Complete installation by a contractor with the required RBQ licences; the connection request must be made by a master electrician

How to apply

  1. Step 1: Get quotes from licensed solar installers and confirm the system size in kW. Hydro-Québec recommends an installer experienced with grid-connected systems, ideally NABCEP-certified.

  2. Step 2: Have your master electrician file the connection request and obtain Hydro-Québec's final authorization.

  3. Step 3: Within 9 months of installation, submit a claim through the LogisVert portal (logisvert.ca) with your invoices, the connection authorization, the panel certificates and data sheets, and photos showing the panels.
