Heat pump and HVAC leads in British Columbia

For heat pumps in British Columbia we track 9 rebates open to most homes, 4 loans, 5 income-tested programs (not sold as leads) and 1 federal rebate announced, not open yet.

In all, 19 current programs: CleanBC Energy Savings Program (ground-oriented homes), CleanBC Energy Savings Program Condo and Apartment Rebate and 15 more local programs, plus 2 federal programs.

10 of them only pay when the work is done by a Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN) member, an approved contractor or a registered contractor, so homeowners go looking for an installer who already qualifies.

A household can stack up to $5,000 for an air-source heat pump from programs open today, and $2,000 more once the National Heat Pump Rebate opens.

How our heat pump leads work

Homeowners in British Columbia find us by searching for rebates. When they ask for quotes, we send the request to installers who serve their postal area. Where a program only pays through a listed contractor, the lead only goes to partners we've checked on that program's official list.

See the page they read: British Columbia heat pumps rebates, plus 5 British Columbia city pages.

  • Consent on every lead

The homeowner ticked an unticked box agreeing to hear from up to 3 companies. You get the exact wording, its version and the time.

  • Shared, first look or exclusive

A shared lead goes to at most 3 companies. A first look is yours alone for 4 working hours before it may go to others. An exclusive lead goes to you alone. You choose.

  • What’s in it

Name, email, postal code, the upgrade, timeline and whether they own the home; phone when given (a lead without a phone number is 50% of the price). Finder leads add heating fuel, home type and the programs that apply.

  • Credits

Wrong contact details, duplicates and out-of-area requests are credited if you report them within 72 hours.

  • The paperwork, in order

7 British Columbia programs need an energy assessment. Our pages tell homeowners which step comes first.

Heat pump and HVAC leads in British Columbia: questions

For some programs, yes. In our British Columbia data, 10 programs ask for a Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN) member, an approved contractor or a registered contractor: ESP, ESP Condo & Apartment, HRR and FortisBC Heat Pump Rebate for Income-Qualified Customers. A lead that depends on one of these programs only goes to partners we've checked on its official list, and you also need the licences and insurance the work requires.

At founding rates, $35 for a shared lead (sent to up to 3 installers), $55 for a first look (yours alone for 4 working hours) and $85 exclusive, in Canadian dollars before tax. Founding partners sign by December 31, 2026 (up to 3 per trade in each metro), get their first qualified lead free, keep their rates for 12 months and are invoiced weekly for the first 60 days. Bad contact details are credited if you report them within 72 hours.

We don’t publish a number we haven’t measured. RebateHub is new, so we tell partners the real request count for their area before they prepay anything. Founding partners choose their postal areas first.

For some programs. 7 current British Columbia programs need an energy assessment, for example ECAP, Central Saanich Heat Pump Financing Program and Heritage Multi-Unit Retrofit Grant. Our pages tell homeowners which step comes first, so the ones who ask for quotes have usually seen the paperwork.
