How our ev charger leads work

Homeowners in British Columbia find us by searching for rebates. When they ask for quotes, we send the request to installers who serve their postal area. Where a program only pays through a listed contractor, the lead only goes to partners we've checked on that program's official list.

See the page they read: British Columbia ev chargers rebates.

  • Consent on every lead

The homeowner ticked an unticked box agreeing to hear from up to 3 companies. You get the exact wording, its version and the time.

  • Shared, first look or exclusive

A shared lead goes to at most 3 companies. A first look is yours alone for 4 working hours before it may go to others. An exclusive lead goes to you alone. You choose.

  • What’s in it

Name, email, postal code, the upgrade, timeline and whether they own the home; phone when given (a lead without a phone number is 50% of the price). Finder leads add heating fuel, home type and the programs that apply.

  • Credits

Wrong contact details, duplicates and out-of-area requests are credited if you report them within 72 hours.

  • The paperwork, in order

7 British Columbia programs need an energy assessment. Our pages tell homeowners which step comes first.

For some programs, yes. In our British Columbia data, 1 program asks for a Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN) member: Community-based top-ups. At founding rates, $15 for a shared lead (sent to up to 3 electricians), $20 for a first look (yours alone for 4 working hours) and $30 exclusive, in Canadian dollars before tax. Founding partners sign by December 31, 2026 (up to 3 per trade in each metro), get their first qualified lead free, keep their rates for 12 months and are invoiced weekly for the first 60 days. Bad contact details are credited if you report them within 72 hours.

We don’t publish a number we haven’t measured. RebateHub is new, so we tell partners the real request count for their area before they prepay anything. Founding partners choose their postal areas first.

For some programs. 7 current British Columbia programs need an energy assessment, for example ECAP, Central Saanich Heat Pump Financing Program and Heritage Multi-Unit Retrofit Grant. Our pages tell homeowners which step comes first, so the ones who ask for quotes have usually seen the paperwork.
