How it works
Owners of single-family homes, row homes and duplexes in BC Hydro territory can claim up to 50% of the purchase and installation cost of an eligible Level 2 charger, to a maximum of $350. Single-family home customers who install an EV power management device, which can avoid an electrical panel upgrade, can get $200 more.
Enrolling an eligible smart charger in BC Hydro's Peak Saver program earns a $250 bill credit plus $50 for each season you stay enrolled.
The charger must be new, bought (not leased) from a Canadian supplier, permanently mounted and installed with an electrical permit. The program is funded by the Province and run by BC Hydro and FortisBC. Combined incentives cannot exceed the total cost.

- New, certified, purchased from a Canadian supplier, and permanently mounted at the home
- Installed with an electrical permit; installing only a 240V outlet does not qualify
- FortisBC electricity customers apply through FortisBC
