LogisVert and Rénoclimat: the RBQ licence rules for contractors

In Québec the rule is a licence, not a program list: 6 current programs in our data, including Rénoclimat, LogisVert and Énergir dual energy, only pay when the work is done by a contractor holding the matching RBQ licence subclasses.

Rénoclimat adds a step: since October 1, 2026, the contractor must fill in and sign the program’s certificate of compliance, and do-it-yourself work doesn’t qualify.

For heat pumps, a Québec household can stack up to $14,000 for an air-source unit from programs open today, plus $2,000 once the federal rebate opens.

Last verified against official sources. We’re independent: not the government, a utility or the program.

What the LogisVert record says about the work

The eligibility and application steps that involve you, as we recorded them from the official pages.

  • Work must be done by a business listed with the Registraire des entreprises that holds the right RBQ licence subclasses
  • Check that your heat pump model is on Hydro-Québec's eligible list and estimate your grant on the LogisVert portal (logisvert.ca) before installing.
  • Hire a licensed contractor and keep your paid invoices, proof of ownership and photos of the equipment nameplates.
  • Submit your claim through the LogisVert portal within 9 months of installation. When you claim several measures together, the 9 months start from the first one. The portal is in French only.
  • For new geothermal or ETS systems, use an authorized installer, who deducts the grant from your invoice.

Questions

Through the program, not through RebateHub. We don’t run or speed up any registration. Start on the official LogisVert page (hydroquebec.com), which explains who can take part. The list on this page shows which programs set the rule, in the words of our program record.

We check each program against its official sources and note the date. The records here were last verified October 19, 2026. Rules change, so confirm on the official page before you quote.

For programs that require a registration, yes: partners confirm they hold what each program requires, plus the licences and insurance for the work, before we send a request for it.

Not yet. Our homeowner pages for Québec are in French at rebatehub.ca/fr. Contractor pages are in English for now.
