For contractors in Ontario

Home Renovation Savings: what participating contractors need to know

Home Renovation Savings, run by Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas, sends heat pump and attic insulation rebates through a participating contractor, who submits the application. Heat pumps also need pre-approval before installation.

That matters to your quotes: an Ontario household can stack up to $7,500 for an air-source heat pump from programs open today, plus $2,000 once the federal rebate opens, and the program pays only when a participating contractor does the work.

3 Ontario programs in our data set a rule on who installs. They’re below, in each record’s own words.

Last verified against official sources. We’re independent: not the government, a utility or the program.

  • Solar and batteries: your contractor submits a pre-installation form; get written pre-approval from the program and your local utility before buying or installing anything.

Through the program, not through RebateHub. We don’t run or speed up any registration. Start on the official HRSP page (homerenovationsavings.ca), which explains who can take part. The list on this page shows which programs set the rule, in the words of our program record.

We check each program against its official sources and note the date. The records here were last verified October 12, 2026. Rules change, so confirm on the official page before you quote.

For programs that require a registration, yes: partners confirm they hold what each program requires, plus the licences and insurance for the work, before we send a request for it.
