Choosing a heat pump water heater in Saskatchewan

The first tip comes from the program’s own steps. Each program’s rules come first.

How SaskEnergy Residential Equipment Replacement Rebate Program works in Sask.
Check that the model is on SaskEnergy's eligible equipment list before buying. Have a TSASK-licensed gas contractor install it.
Check the space
Heat pump water heaters pull heat from the surrounding air and need room around them, ideally in a basement or utility room that stays above about 7 °C.
Plan the condensate drain
They produce condensate, so you need a nearby floor drain or a small pump.
Confirm the model is listed
Most rebates require an ENERGY STAR certified model. Check the model number before you buy.
