Water heater rebates in Manitoba

No rebate pays for water heaters in right now, but one program offers financing: up to $20,000 through the Manitoba Hydro Home Energy Efficiency Loan. Loans are repaid, so we never add them to a rebate total.

One current program covers water heaters in Manitoba, from Manitoba Hydro. Keep the invoice with the model numbers; you’ll need them to apply. Checked October 19, 2026.

Choosing a heat pump water heater in Manitoba

Each program’s own rules come first.

Check the space
Heat pump water heaters pull heat from the surrounding air and need room around them, ideally in a basement or utility room that stays above about 7 °C.
Plan the condensate drain
They produce condensate, so you need a nearby floor drain or a small pump.
Confirm the model is listed
Most rebates require an ENERGY STAR certified model. Check the model number before you buy.
