How HAT Smart EnerGuide rebate works
OpenHAT Smart, the City of Medicine Hat's conservation program, refunds part of the cost of an EnerGuide home evaluation on an existing home. The pre-renovation evaluation tells you which upgrades are worth doing, and the post-renovation evaluation confirms the savings. For 2026, each one can earn a rebate of up to $250, and the post-renovation rebate is new this year.
