Calgary home energy rebates and loans

Income-qualified households in Calgary can get free upgrades through the Calgary Home Upgrades Program (waitlist only). The federal National Heat Pump Rebate will add $2,000, or up to $10,000 below the median income, once it opens.

Calgary’s winters are cold and dry, broken up by chinook winds that can swing temperatures quickly. Nearly every home heats with a natural gas furnace, and many inner-city neighbourhoods are lined with bungalows from the 1950s and 60s.
