How it works

The territorial Good Energy program pays 50% of eligible project costs for a heat pump in an existing home, including the electrical work needed to support it, to a maximum of $10,500. A smaller rebate is available for heat pumps installed in new homes.

Lower- and median-income households should first check the Affordable Heat Pump Program, which can cover the full cost. Owners of electrically heated homes who pair a heat pump with a non-electric backup heat source may get more under the Dependable Grid Program (50% up to $15,000).

Applications go through the Good Energy Rebates portal after installation, with itemized receipts that show a zero balance. Payment can take up to 12 weeks.

Who qualifies

  • Owner of a home in Yukon
  • Eligible heat pump installed as set out in the Good Energy terms and conditions
  • Itemized receipts with no balance owing, in the same name as the application
