How it works
The Affordable Heat Pump Program launched in December 2024 and was fully subscribed within weeks; later applicants were placed on a waitlist in the order they applied. Federal and territorial funding was increased in March 2025.
The share of costs covered depends on household income, up to 100% and $24,000. Homes switching from oil heat also received a $250 upfront payment through the federal partner program. Approval is required before installation.
Homeowners who do not qualify can use the standard Good Energy heat pump rebate (50% up to $10,500) instead.
