How it works

Through the Energy Assistance Program, a home energy coach visits income-qualified homes, shares ways to save and installs free products: LED bulbs, kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators, high-efficiency showerheads, pipe wrap, a block heater timer, a drying rack and, if the existing thermostat is compatible, a smart thermostat. SaskPower estimates savings of up to $230 a year.

The program is open to customers of SaskPower, Saskatoon Light & Power and Swift Current Light & Power who live year-round in a house, condo or apartment. Landlords who own detached, semi-detached or townhouse rentals with income-qualified tenants who pay their own utilities can also apply.

Taking part in this program is also the only way to be invited to SaskEnergy's free furnace replacement (the Heating Affordability Program).
