How it works
Efficiency Manitoba pays $400 toward a pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation of an existing home. An energy advisor from a registered service organization assesses the home's insulation, air tightness, windows, doors and heating and cooling, then emails a report with recommended upgrades about two to three weeks later.
To qualify, you must own the home (including a rental or cottage), it must have active Manitoba Hydro residential service, be heated from September to May and be at least two years old, and you must plan at least one energy efficiency upgrade within the next 12 months. Apply within 90 days of the evaluation.
Only one pre-retrofit evaluation rebate is paid per address. Post-retrofit evaluations, new homes and seasonal or unoccupied homes are not eligible.
Who qualifies
- Owner of the home, rental property or cottage evaluated
- Active Manitoba Hydro residential service; home heated September to May and at least two years old
- Plan to complete at least one energy efficiency upgrade within 12 months
- No previous Efficiency Manitoba rebate for a pre-retrofit evaluation at the same address
How to apply
Step 1: Book a pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation with a service organization that serves existing homes
Step 2: Receive your reports about two to three weeks after the visit
Step 3: Apply online with the reports within 90 days of the evaluation (paper applications available on request)
