How it works

The District of West Vancouver added its own top-ups to the CleanBC Better Homes rebates for homes switching from gas, oil, wood or propane to electric: $1,500 toward an electrical service upgrade and $1,000 toward a heat pump water heater. Eligibility was assessed automatically through the CleanBC Better Homes program.

When the Province ended Better Homes fuel-switching rebates on April 11, 2025, the District's top-ups ended too. Work completed, or quotes received, before that date may still qualify through the Better Homes program.

Who qualifies

  • No longer offered for new work after April 11, 2025.
  • Work completed or quoted before April 11, 2025 may still be assessed through the CleanBC Better Homes program.

How applications worked

  1. Step 1: Not accepting new projects. For work quoted or done before April 11, 2025, contact a CleanBC Energy Coach at 1-844-881-9790.
