How it works
Nanaimo homeowners can get part of the cost of an EnerGuide home energy assessment back from the City. The initial assessment rebate is $150. After you finish upgrades, a follow-up assessment earns $10 for every 5 GJ per year of improvement on the EnerGuide scale, up to $200, as long as the improvement is at least 5 GJ.
Funding is limited and paid first come, first served, with one application per property. The assessment must be done by an energy advisor whose service organization holds a City of Nanaimo business licence.
Who qualifies
- Project located in the City of Nanaimo; one application per property.
- Assessment completed by an energy advisor with a valid City of Nanaimo business licence.
- Apply within 24 months of the date on the assessment receipt.
How to apply
Step 1: Book an EnerGuide assessment with a licensed service organization.
Step 2: Apply online, by mail or in person at 411 Dunsmuir Street with the receipt and EnerGuide report.
Step 3: For the follow-up rebate, submit the follow-up report showing the new rating and its receipt.
