How it works

When most residential equipment rebates ended on April 15, 2026, biomass heating equipment was reported to remain eligible. Qualifying EPA- or CSA B415.1-certified wood and pellet stoves, furnaces and boilers receive provincial rebates, with higher amounts for income-qualified households.

Separately, Islanders can claim 10% back on eligible firewood and wood pellet purchases.

Who qualifies

  • PEI property registered in your name, with the dwelling occupied at least six months before the upgrade
  • Equipment installed within the previous 12 months in already-heated space
  • Income-qualified amounts require household income of $35,000 or less and the home must be your primary residence

How to apply

  1. Step 1: Complete efficiencyPEI's equipment rebate application and include dated receipts and any electrical Certificate of Compliance

  2. Step 2: Mail or drop it off at efficiencyPEI or any Access PEI location, or call 1-877-734-6336
