How it works
The City of Edmonton has run several rounds of rooftop solar rebates. The most recent round opened on March 17, 2025 for multi-unit residential properties with four or more dwellings, paying $0.50 per watt up to $4,000 per dwelling from a budget of up to $2.3 million. Its full budget was committed by August 18, 2025, and installations had to be completed by November 3, 2025.
The City states that its residential solar rebate, for both single-family and multi-unit properties, is fully subscribed. Solar remains eligible for financing through Edmonton's CEIP.
