How it works

The Government of Yukon ended its electric transportation rebates on March 31, 2026 to reduce pressure on the electricity grid. The retired rebates covered new electric vehicles, EV chargers, shipping costs for used EVs, e-bikes and electric cargo bikes, and other electric transportation devices. About $946,000 was moved to the new Dependable Grid Program.

Vehicles, bikes and chargers bought on or before March 31, 2026 remain eligible if the application reaches the Energy Branch within one year of the purchase date. The federal Electric Vehicle Affordability Program still applies to new EVs.
